As Financial Horizons continues to expand its presence as a leading MGA serving independent advisors, we are seeking an experienced, impactful, and influential leader to advance strategic priorities, foster collaboration, and drive the execution of shared initiatives across 24 key carrier relationships. This role is part of the Canada Life organization and plays a critical role in strengthening alignment and outcomes across our partner network.

What you will do

  • Drive Strategic Carrier Partnership Management: Lead and manage senior-level relationships with assigned carrier partners to ensure strong, long-term strategic alignment. Develop and execute partnership plans that support mutual growth, product expansion, and market competitiveness. Serve as the primary escalation and coordination point for strategic carrier matters.
  • Lead Portfolio Growth and Profitability: Drive profitable premium growth across carrier partnerships by aligning distribution strategies with carrier appetite and capacity. Monitor production, profitability, and portfolio performance metrics in partnership with business leaders. Identify opportunities to expand business volume, offerings and service experience with existing carriers.
  • Provide Carrier Governance and Oversight: Lead regular business reviews with carrier partners to review performance, results, and strategic priorities. Proactively manage risks and resolve partnership issues to maintain strong carrier confidence in the MGA.
  • Advise on Carrier Strategy and Market Intelligence: Provide strategic insight on market conditions, carrier appetite, and competitive dynamics. Advise senior leadership on carrier capacity strategy, diversification opportunities, and potential new partnerships. Support the evaluation and onboarding of new carrier partners where strategic gaps exist.

What you will bring

  • 8+ years in financial services distribution (carrier, MGA, wholesaling, enterprise partnerships) with proven success influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of the industry landscape, Carrier distribution models, MGA environments, and advisor needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted executive-level relationships and influence senior decision-makers.
  • Proven experience leading strategic partnerships, negotiations, or enterprise-level account management.
  • Experience working directly with financial advisors, with strong understanding of diverse advisor business models and the challenges and opportunities they face.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and executive communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, and business acumen.
