The Wealth Technology team within Application Delivery, Canada and Lifeco is seeking a Senior Business Consultant. This role is a match for you if you are passionate about Wealth and working with business and technology teams to innovate, define, and deliver high quality technology solutions.
In this role you will act as a trusted advisor to internal clients by proactively building relationships with business, technology, and external stakeholders. You will work closely with members of the Individual Wealth business and technology teams, using standardized business analysis and development processes based on industry best practices. Continuous learning and knowledge transfer is extremely important to the success of this team.

What You Will Do:
- Customer Relationship Management: Nurture relationships and collaboration
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought leader by proactively building relationships to understand the business’ current state, short and long-term priorities, ensuring open and ongoing communication to proactively address any issues
- Evaluate current business problems and provide advice on the applicability and usability of alternative technology products or solutions
- Lead conversations in ambiguous situations and influence discussions to guide partners
- Partner with business and technology partners and preferred vendors to understand product roadmaps and recommend new solutions and ideas to drive both customer and business outcomes
- Ensure leaders and team members cut through siloes to work together towards common goals

Technology Delivery, Adoption, Support
- Use industry consulting methodologies to understand business requests/expected outcomes to translate and document them into requirements, prototypes and/or technical solutions
- Consult with architects, business leaders, peers, and vendors on the best strategy, options, and technology roadmaps to meet client and business objectives
- Directly collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize incoming portfolio components
- Support delivery execution of business technology projects and large work packages
- Apply a high level of detail to work and consistently look for ways to improve the quality of a product
- Be actively plugged into external product communities, user groups; conduct research to develop knowledge and bring forward best practices and research ways to maximize business value for technical solutions
What you will bring:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a technology delivery environment.
- University degree or certification in computer science.
- Ideal candidate has experience working with wealth businesses and systems and maintains a strong knowledge of wealth products in the Canadian market.
- Ability to rapidly acquire new knowledge and skills and apply creative thinking to solve problems while understanding the organization’s vision, purpose, and values.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information and make good decisions or recommendations in ambiguous or difficult situations.
- Strong entrepreneurial skills with a bias to deliver business outcomes, forge strong business partnerships, and effectively manage risk and scope change as an opportunity to deliver greater value.
- Passionate about technology, user experience and business, loves to learn and pass on learning to others, and champions new ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to impact and influence, and to challenge when necessary.
- Demonstrated experience leading people and teams in complex technology and business delivery environments with a variety of systems.
- Strong communication skills, including communicating with senior leadership, peers, business partners, vendors and customers.
The base salary for this position is between 102,000 - $152,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
