Job Purpose
An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant within the Investments team. This team produces all financial accounting and external reporting in line with internal policies and relevant accounting frameworks in respect of IFRS, local GAAP, GWL OSFI and regulatory reporting (including FCA & Solvency II) requirements of the CLUK Investments business unit.
Key Accountabilities
- Preparation of monthly trial balance and management accounts
- Financial statements in respect of GWL IFRS requirements
- Local GAAP entity financial statements
- Local regulatory including FCA regulatory statements on a quarterly and annual basis
- Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ICOFR requirements and maintain relevant documentation around the control environment
- Assist in the co-ordination of the external interim & year audits.
- Reconciliation of the company’s inter-company positions and maintenance of working relationships
- Maintaining control of the capital/liquidity movements of the assigned entity including but not limited to cash rebalancing, dividends and interest payments
- Contribution to Board and Committee papers and presentations in respect of the Wealth and Asset Management entities
Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
- Wealth Management and/or Life Insurance Industry experience - desirable, but not essential
- Solvency II/Solvency UK experience desirable
- Qualified ACA/ACCA accountant
- Strong ability to apply analytical skills to business problems
- Excellent communication skills – able to address non-technical and technical audiences in formal and informal settings
- Good attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong Microsoft Office experience and comfortable working with multiple systems for reporting and data manipulation.
