The Industrials, Services, and Sustainability (“ISS”) team in the UK & Europe currently comprises eight dedicated professionals led by two seasoned Managing Directors. We provide corporate finance advisory services to clients across diverse sub-sectors, including infrastructure, industrial services, equipment rental, construction, transport, logistics, consulting, professional services, human capital management, mobility, environmental services, and sustainability. The team is poised to expand, building on multiple years of strong deal flow, aligned with Canaccord's broader strategic growth priorities. The role will encompass supporting the origination and execution of corporate advisory transactions as an integral part of a dynamic team. The Associate will also provide support and guidance to Analysts and Interns.
The Role
- Undertaking valuations of businesses using various methodologies, including relative valuation, leveraged buyout models, and discounted cash flow analyses, and presenting results to the project team, clients, and prospects.
- Performing detailed financial modeling and analysis, including valuation and assessing the financial impact of transactions.
- Analyzing industry and sector trends, conducting commercial analysis of businesses, and studying transaction case studies.
- Drafting and reviewing marketing materials and documentation such as pitches, teasers, information memorandums, management presentations, strategic review papers, valuation papers, and admission/prospectus documents.
- Collating inputs from the project team, clients, and advisers to produce and revise materials.
- Managing transaction processes to ensure smooth execution, addressing potential issues promptly, attending meetings, and working directly with client senior management.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Three to five years’ experience in M&A from a reputable investment bank or independent advisory firm, ideally within Industrials, Services, and Sustainability sectors.
- Proven academic and professional achievement.
- Degree educated with a minimum 2:1 grade.
- Highly numerate with strong valuation and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, reliable, motivated, and ambitious.
- Team player with the ability to fit into the company culture.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
