CAN Engineering is a UK-based geotechnical engineering and access contractor operating within the RSK Group, headquartered in Chesterfield, United Kingdom.
We are seeking a Project Manager – Geotechnical to join our team in Chesterfield. In this role you will be a supporting member of the Leadership Team for CAN, reporting directly to the Contracts Director and liaising with staff on all aspects of contract, commercial and project management for specialist construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the implementation of contract works in a safe manner, in accordance with company-wide and project-specific health, safety and environmental documentation.
- Develop project plans, gain necessary approvals and manage contracts in accordance with these plans, providing safe and cost‑efficient services.
- Provide site managers with appropriate targets in terms of work outputs, deadlines, etc. based on the work programme.
- Actively monitor outputs achieved and provide timely feedback to the Operations Manager.
- Proactively work to improve productivity without compromising safety or quality requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of all site tasks and documentation detailed in the Project Briefing Checklist.
- Assist in the development and implementation of ISO accreditations.
Person Specification
- Experience working in Geotechnical operations at site or as a Project Manager.
- Degree level education in engineering, geology or a related field.
