CAN Engineering, part of the RSK Group, have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager (Geotechnical) to join their team in Chesterfield, UK. This role involves being a supporting member of the Leadership Team for CAN, reporting directly to the Contracts Director, and liaising with staff regarding all aspects of contract, commercial, and project management in the delivery of projects. The focus will be on managing the contractual risks imposed by Clients on specialist construction projects, assessing pre-qualification submissions and tenders for larger and higher risk projects, and reviewing and agreeing the contractual terms with Clients. Additionally, you will provide commercial guidance and support to the CAN senior leadership team.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the implementation of contract works in a safe manner, in accordance with company-wide and project-specific health, safety, and environmental documentation.
- Develop project plans, gain the necessary approvals, and subsequently manage contracts in accordance with these plans, providing safe and cost-efficient services.
- Provide site managers with appropriate targets in terms of work outputs, deadlines, etc., based on the work programme.
- Actively monitor outputs achieved and provide timely feedback of information to the Operations Manager.
- Proactively work to improve productivity without compromising safety or quality requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of all site tasks and documentation detailed in the Project Briefing Checklist (or as otherwise requested).
- Assist in the development and implementation of ISO accreditations.
Person Specification:
- Experience working in Geotechnical operations at site or Project Manager positions.
- Degree level education in engineering, geology, or related fields.
