Job Description

The CAN Group of companies are leading providers in Engineering, Integrity, Inspection and Maintenance solutions to the energy industry worldwide.


We are currently seeking an experienced Offshore Inspection Engineer (OIE) to work on a regular 3/3 UK offshore rotation with an expected start date of February / March 2026.


The successful candidate will have demonstrated significant relevant industry experience with a minimum of 5 years in-service inspection and assessment of pressure systems.


Successful candidates must possess the following:


Qualifications:

  • UKAS RG2 Category 3 (or above)
  • Formal Plant Inspection qualifications – ASME L2 or API 570 & API 510
  • IRATA Rope Access
  • Offshore Survival Certification, Medical and MIST
  • Incorporated Engineer Status or working towards (desirable)
  • NDT Qualifications: PCN Level 2 in; Ultrasonic Testing, MPI and DPI


Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills
  • Well-developed negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of relevant standards relative to O&G industry equipment and processes
  • Knowledge of NDT and the principles of Risk Based Inspection methodologies
  • Knowledge of degradation mechanisms relative to O&G industry
  • Competence in use of computer packages (MS Office, etc.)
  • Positive approach to Compliance Issues (Quality, Health & Safety)
  • Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritise work effectively
  • Good Time management skills
  • Demonstrate all round skills and related technical competency
  • Proficient report writing skills
  • Flexible approach to work
