Applications are invited for a full-time Research Assistant to support ongoing research projects investigating the biological and psychological causes and mechanisms of psychosis.

The successful candidate will join Professor Murray's group (CPPDS https://www.cppds.org.uk/) within the department of Psychiatry.

The successful candidate will support the following studies:

  • VOLABIOS: EU-funded VOLABIOS project aims to enhance schizophrenia management via the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in breath, urine, blood and skin as non-invasive biomarkers for early diagnosis. The project will conduct clinical studies involving subjects across six centres and a blind validation study with at-risk individuals. https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101156162
  • The Mental Health Mission for Psychosis: a multi-disciplinary, multi-centre, UK wide collaboration involving Universities, NHS Trust and healthcare companies. The focus is to understand more about patients with early psychosis to help enable better prevention and treatment. The project is funded by the Office of Life Science and National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). https://eim.digitrial.com/

The proportion of time spent on each programme will be discussed with the successful applicants.

Applicants should have a degree in psychology, neuroscience, linguistics or a related discipline.

Experience of participant recruitment is essential. Experience of working with people with psychosis is desirable.

Excellent organisational and communication skills are required.

The successful candidate must have prior experience in participant recruitment and data collection.
