Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. The position is a 4 On 4 Off shift days and nights with a salary of £42,621.
What you'll be doing:
- Conduct regular inspections of conveyor belts and sortation controls to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
- Respond to breakdowns and troubleshoot technical problems with conveyor belts and sortation controls, including identifying faulty components, replacing parts, and resetting systems.
- Carry out preventative maintenance on conveyor belts and sortation controls, including lubrication, cleaning, and calibration.
- Work with the maintenance team to develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures and protocols.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the maintenance of conveyor belts and sortation controls, and provide recommendations to management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices.
What you need to show us:
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance technician role, preferably in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment with minimum 2 years' experience.
- Excellent knowledge of conveyor belt and sortation control systems, including electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components.
- Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical problems quickly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Qualification in an engineering or technical discipline, such as electrical or mechanical engineering (we will consider candidates that are looking to gain experience with their qualification).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience working in a safe and clean working environment.
- Flexibility to work a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, including weekends and nights.
