We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales.
Our Strategic Priorities Over The Next Five Years Are:
- To develop a coherent and inclusive range of qualifications for learners aged 14-16
- To build an effective and sustainable qualifications offer
- To modernise assessment approaches
- To support the qualifications system through grants and expertise
We are now looking for a Strategic Engagement Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

- Salary of £45,974 - £54,431 per annum

The Role:
As our Strategic Engagement Manager, you will support our public affairs and business engagement activities. Day-to-day, you will be shaping our story and building and maintaining public confidence in what we do and our mission and in Welsh qualifications. Specifically, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engagement and communications specialists, providing informed strategic advice regarding engagement and stakeholder relations matters. Identifying creative ways to engage with audiences, you will act as the bridge between our organisation and key stakeholders, developing a comprehensive engagement programme that highlights the value and relevance of our qualifications.
Additionally, You Will:
- Engage with business, political and related audiences
- Work with partners to enhance awareness
- Conduct targeted outreach and develop new stakeholder relationships
- Represent Qualifications Wales at events, meetings and visits
- Contribute to communication materials tailored to specific audiences
- Gather and analyse business intelligence
- Identify and promote best practices in qualifications internally
About You:
To be considered as a Strategic Engagement Manager, you will need:
- Experience of establishing and maintaining good working relationships with external stakeholders
- Knowledge of public engagement principles
- An understanding of customer relationships and account management
- An understanding of stakeholder engagement in a bilingual nation
- Degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience
