Campion Pickworth is partnering with a specialist private credit investment firm to appoint a Credit Associate. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the sourcing, underwriting and completion of structured credit transactions within a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting. This opportunity is well suited to a highly analytical credit professional with experience across private credit, structured finance, asset-backed lending or loan portfolio analytics.
You will bring a strong quantitative background and advanced Excel modelling expertise, with a track record of constructing models from first principles rather than adapting pre-built templates.
What You’ll Do:- Analyse borrower financial accounts alongside large, and often imperfect, loan‑level datasets
- Develop comprehensive Excel models from the ground up to evaluate credit risk
- Model cashflow outcomes, covenant headroom and downside case scenarios
- Evaluate probability of default using both quantitative analysis and qualitative judgement
- Assist with transaction execution and ongoing portfolio surveillance
- Work closely with origination channels to review and screen new opportunities
- 3–6 years’ experience within private credit, structured finance, specialty lending, asset‑backed lending, or loan portfolio analytics
- Advanced Excel modelling capability (confident building sophisticated models from a blank workbook)
- Experience handling and analysing large loan‑level datasets
- Strong knowledge of credit risk, structured products and portfolio analytics
- Background in developing downside and stress‑testing scenarios
- Commercial awareness combined with strong technical proficiency
- Intellectually curious with the ability to operate effectively using incomplete or imperfect data
