Campion Pickworth are partnered with a leading specialist financial services business to appoint a Senior Credit Portfolio Manager within their property finance function.
This is a technical and hands-on role covering the full lifecycle of challenged and higher-risk exposures, working closely with borrowers, internal credit stakeholders and external advisers to develop and execute appropriate credit strategies.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of higher-risk and stressed property finance exposures.
- Assess borrower performance, underlying security, cash flow and overall credit risk.
- Develop and recommend strategies to mitigate risk and return exposures to performing status where possible.
- Lead discussions with borrowers and other stakeholders to agree and implement agreed strategies.
- Prepare clear credit analysis, recommendations and papers for senior approval.
- Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance and delivery against agreed strategies.
- Engage and manage external professional advisers where required.
- Lead the transition of exposures into recovery or enforcement processes where a consensual solution cannot be achieved.
- Provide regular portfolio, impairment and risk reporting to senior stakeholders.
About you:
- Strong experience in credit risk, portfolio management, restructuring, recoveries or special situations.
- Good understanding of property-backed lending, ideally across areas such as investment, development, bridging or commercial property finance.
- Able to analyse complex credit situations and translate them into practical risk mitigation strategies.
- Confident dealing directly with borrowers, advisers and senior internal stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-quality credit papers.
