Purpose: Do you want the autonomy and freedom to enhance the lives of the People We Support? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We have an opening for you to join us as a Programme Lead (Social Farm and Gardens) at Ashfield Gardens. The Programme Lead will develop, deliver and assess the effectiveness of the programme they lead, collaborating with other leads from across the charity to develop consistent, comprehensive programmes across all our ten communities. The inclusive activities are then shaped and delivered to meet each individual participant’s support needs, goals and desired outcomes.

Locations & Travel: This role will be based at Ashfield Social Care Farm and Gardens, Sugarloaf Lane, Iverley, DY10 3PB. To be considered for the role, you must be able to reliably travel to this site.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Programme Delivery: Developing, planning, delivering, assessing and supporting people to participate in activities within one or more of the Socials Farms and Gardens programmes (Animal Care and Husbandry, Growing and Horticulture, Countryside Management). Working with other Programme Leads from across the Trust to curate nature‑based programmes of activity as vehicles to delivering outcomes and impact. Develop comprehensive 13‑week programmes of activity, designed to support each of the individual participants to progress towards their personal goals. Using templates and established processes, document programme plans and keep records of sessions to inform continual service improvement.
  • Person‑centred support: Work with participants to identify individual goals and determine progression objectives. Assess, induct, review the support needs of programme participants, ensuring effective support plans and risk assessments are in place, in partnership with other relevant parties such as social workers, family members and key workers. Review participants progress and develop plans for each season to build on that progress to meet individual objectives. Document reflections on the effectiveness of activities of supporting people to progress towards their individual goals. Creating safe, enabling environment. Keeping records and collecting data to evidence progress, outcomes and impact.
  • Health and Safety: Responsible for safe practice, risk assessment of the environment and people, developing and implementing safe operating processes and procedures; maintain records to evidence the effectiveness of our systems and processes in doing so. Identify, report and follow up any buildings/equipment issues with our PALS teams and/or external contractors as required, through to problem solved. Find solutions to operational challenges and elevate risks or issues that are outside your control or influence to mitigate/resolve; action recommendations made in internal/external audits to improve safety/reduce risk. Ensure we are meeting all regulatory requirements to keep people safe, as well as any additional measures described in Trust policies and procedures relevant to your role/programme.
  • People: Support the Managers to recruit, induct, integrate and train new staff and volunteers. Manage and work alongside Support Workers, supporting participants to engage in the activities and progress towards their individual goals; carry out regular supervisions and developing our staff to reach their potential. Assisting the Manager with staffing schedules/rotas to ensure we resource the service efficiently and appropriately to ensure a safe environment and meet the support needs of participants. Aiding communication through information cascades, team meetings etc. Conduct regular observations to provide Support Workers feedback on effectiveness of the support provided to individual participants.
  • Data and Reporting: Collect evidence of progression and other data as required to meet KPI and other reporting requirements that evidence effectiveness, efficiency and achievement of target outcomes.
  • Service Development and Promotion: Working with NBTS Managers to build a strong and positive presence in the community by attending and supporting both internal and external events. Building and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders, including family members and professionals, while ensuring the Camphill Village Trust ethos is clearly communicated. Supporting visits and trials for potential new participants and leading their induction process once they join.
  • General: To comply with the Trust’s Policies and Procedures, including Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity and Data Protection. To comply with the statutory provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Employees must look after their own health, safety and welfare and be mindful of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions. Employees must co-operate and comply with management instructions regarding Health and Safety issues and report all accidents, incidents and problems as soon as practicable to their manager or other senior members of staff where necessary. To ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times. To attend and participate in Team Meetings, 1-2-1 Supervision sessions and other meetings as required in line with the post. To undertake any other duties which are consistent with this post, as directed by line management.

Key Competencies: Competent to develop and lead programmes in one or more of the following areas within Food and Retail Skills Programmes: Catering, Food Prep and Processing. Able to lead programmes in food environments with safe practices as outlined in Safer Food Better Business. Able to assess risk of others working in environments where there is hot/cold liquids, food stuffs and equipment, as well as tools and machinery that can cause serious harm if not used according to safe operating procedures. Customer Service and Retail: Able to lead a programme and people in customer‑facing environments.
