This role involves the day-to-day management of a 54-bed residential service across 12 houses, supporting between 1 and 7 residents in each home. The service operates in line with the Residential Care Home Regulations (Northern Ireland 2005), DHSSPS minimum standards, and organisational quality systems. Adult services use a mixed staffing model of employees and on-site vocational volunteer workers.

Salary: Adult Residential Manager Band - £54,050 - £56,278 per annum

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Length of Contract: Permanent

Essential Criteria:

  • Eligible for registration with RQIA as per DHSSPS minimum standards for Residential Care Home Registered Manager i.e. A Professional Social Work Qualification OR Level 5 Diploma (QCF5) in Leadership for Health and Social Care services (this must include Adult Residential Management, for managing a residential service); OR other relevant Diploma/Degree/Post-Graduate qualification in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care (which must include Adult Residential Management)
  • Registered with NISCC or NMC
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the provision/co-ordination of residential, training or support services for individuals with learning disabilities or other vulnerable groups, 2 years of which should have been at a deputy manager's level or equivalent
  • The ability to lead a team and work as part of a team
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of acting, deputising as registered manager of a registered service
  • Experience as a Safeguarding Champion with adults
  • Knowledge of issues pertaining to the service user group of adults or children with learning difficulties and complex medical and developmental difficulties
