Camphill Community Glencraig is currently recruiting for the following vacancy: Day Support Worker Farm (26/23/DSW/WEB)

Day Support Workers will assist the team in providing the highest possible standard of support and care to adults with complex needs and challenging behaviour, to pursue a valued lifestyle by participating in meaningful daily activities, supporting the well-being and development of skills as well as enhancing and promoting independence, choices and rights within a safe and caring environment. This position will require working on the Farm, an outdoor Day Opportunity workshop environment.
Please Note: this role does not currently meet the criteria set by the UK Home Office for the Tier 2 Health and Social Care Visa.
Salary: 3-Point scale, commencing on £27,976 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, 9am - 5pm
Contract: Permanent
Essential Criteria:
- NVQ Level II or equivalent (this criterion will be waived where the candidate has at least 12 months relevant experience in an educational/care setting)
- Basic Numeracy & Literacy (English Language) skills at GCSE level Maths and English grade C
- Registered or agreeable to applying for registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC)
- At least six months recent experience in a caring and/or educational support field
- Ability to work as part of an outdoor team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in an outdoor setting
- Strong effective communication skills both orally and in writing
Desirable Criteria:
- Qualification in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences
- Experience in education or health/social care setting
- Experience in dealing with challenging behaviour
- Experience of working with individuals with a disability
