Camphill Community Glencraig is currently recruiting for the following vacancy: Health and Safety Manager. The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for leading the organisations health and safety function, including the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the health and safety framework. The postholder will ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements, reduce organisational risk, promote a strong safety culture across all operations, and support effective facilities oversight by deputising for the Facilities Manager when required.
The role forms part of the organisations management function and will work closely with the Facilities Manager, senior managers and operational leads to ensure that health, safety and facilities-related risks are identified, managed and escalated appropriately. In the absence of the Facilities Manager, the postholder will deputise as required to support continuity of facilities oversight, contractor liaison, compliance monitoring and urgent operational decision-making within agreed authority levels.

Salary: £41,225 - £43,030 per annum, £50 on call retainer
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm
Length of Contract: Permanent
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Facilities Management, or a related field (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management and facilities management
- Minimum of 3 years experience in managing maintenance services
- Experience of leading a staff team
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and best practice
- Knowledge of CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations and their application in facilities projects
- Ability to work in various environments, including office settings, residential/school/day care facilities, and outdoor areas
- Ability to produce board reports, business cases and presentations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Available to work occasional evenings and weekends (on call rota)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software
