Camphill Blair Drummond is seeking a dedicated Cook to lead the preparation and presentation of healthy, balanced meals for our Day Service. You will work with seasonal produce, including home‑grown fruits and vegetables, and create menus that reflect the dietary and cultural needs of our residents, day students, volunteers, and employees. What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare fresh, nutritious light lunches daily
- Plan weekly menus that accommodate allergies, cultural preferences, and seasonal produce
- Collaborate with day students, employees, and volunteers to inform menu planning
- Manage food resources, stock control, and weekly shopping
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and kitchen safety
- Promote the Camphill ethos in all aspects of your work
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
- Strong knowledge of food prep, cooking methods, and sanitation
- Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations
- Respect for confidentiality and safeguarding practices
Desirable:
- Experience in residential or hospitality settings
- Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
Personal Qualities
- Flexible and reliable with a positive attitude
- Empathetic and supportive of individuals with learning disabilities
- Enthusiastic about food and its role in daily life
- Able to build warm, respectful relationships with colleagues and day students
