Lost in Leith/Campervan Brewery are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The role is for 35 hours per week (Thursday - Monday), with flexibility to cover the occasional evening shift as desirable. The rate of pay is the Real Living Wage (£13.45/hour).
Responsibilities
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to quality standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or snacks as required
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
- Ensure food safety standards are consistently met in accordance with health regulations
- Restock supplies and organise stock to ensure smooth operations during shifts
- Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering questions about menu items and dietary options
Skills
- Experience as a barista or in a similar food service role is essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly and approachable manner
- Basic food preparation skills and understanding of hygiene standards
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during shifts
