Campden BRI's pilot plant facilities support cutting‑edge food and drink product development for clients across the industry — from early‑stage innovation through to full‑scale process design. Our pilot plant team sits at the heart of this work, keeping world‑class equipment running safely, compliantly, and at peak readiness.

  • Ownership of H&S, quality and food safety systems — including inductions, training and ongoing compliance monitoring
  • Managing calibration and servicing schedules for approximately 50+ items of equipment (both internal and external)
  • Coordinating contractors, raising purchase orders, managing site visits and filing documentation
  • Auditing all areas for housekeeping, ingredient storage and GMP standards
  • Managing the pilot plant diary and access control to maximise utilisation and avoid scheduling conflicts
  • Carrying out and overseeing risk assessments (IOSH Managing Safely), PUWER and COSHH assessments

  • Chairing the quarterly steering group and producing minutes and actions
  • Supporting project teams with practical work, paperwork sign‑off and client‑facing activity
  • Driving the Pilot Plant 2025 Strategy and identifying CAPEX requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Educated to at least A-level standard
  • HACCP Level 3 or above
  • Proven knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory compliance
  • Practical experience operating food processing equipment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and variable deadlines
  • Confident communicator, able to influence across all levels from technologist to Associate Director

What we offer:

  • Reward platform with employee discounts and rewards
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • Buy and sell holiday scheme
  • Generous work‑save pension scheme, with employee contributions matched by the company up to 10%
