Are you a science graduate with a passion for wine? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Wines and Spirits Analysis team at Campden BRI's Guildford site. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst to join our specialist Wines and Spirits team. This is a unique role that combines rigorous scientific analysis with the world of wine, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their technical expertise alongside funded WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) qualifications.
About the Role
Based at our Guildford site, you will be working within our Wines and Spirits Analysis section, delivering accurate analytical results using established methods and our LIMS system. You will play a key role in supporting the team with a broad range of analytical tasks, maintaining the high standards of quality and accuracy that our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out analysis of wines and spirits according to instructions, within agreed timescales
- Maintain full and up-to-date records of all work performed, both manually and automated, including all aspects of quality control
- Calibration, maintenance and daily monitoring of laboratory equipment
- Communicate effectively with your line manager, colleagues and clients as required
- Coordinate your own workload to meet defined deadlines and contribute to ongoing improvement activities
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with departmental policies and risk assessments
What We Are Looking For
- A degree in a science subject and/or relevant laboratory experience
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately within specified timeframes
- A team player with a practical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
- A genuine interest in or passion for wine is highly desirable
- Able to commute to our Guildford site five days a week
