Campden BRI have a dedicated Regulatory Affairs team, who offer a valuable and expert advisory service, as the leading authority, helping our clients stay compliant with food regulations in more than 80 countries. The Product and Market Advisory Team Manager is primarily responsible for developing, supporting, coaching, motivating, and growing a team of regulatory advisors, while strategically enhancing the portfolio of core regulatory services. This includes the use of modern technology to deliver growth as well as to improve procedures and working practices whilst ensuring a high level of service is delivered to all clients.

What you’ll be doing

  • Team management 40%: Developing and growing the team of regulatory advisors to support with core regulatory services; Ensuring staff availability to cope with workload and effectively deliver the services of high volume; Conducting one-to-one meetings for appraisals, objectives setting and ongoing development; Establishing goals and key performance indicators while being responsible for performance management and contribution to growth; Setting up training and development plans to upskill and expand market coverage and product expertise; Inspiring a collaborative team culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement. Supporting the team on the use of modern approaches and technology with the view to enhance or improve services.
  • Client interface 30%: Supporting the establishment, development, and implementation of the strategy, including service enhancement in core regulatory areas. Ensuring that agreed financial budget targets are being met or exceeded with clear focus on sustainable revenue growth; Identifying and converting business opportunities with the view to generate repeat work and expand the client base. Leading and supporting in development of marketing activities, proposing new regulatory services, and suggesting improvements of current services/formats to expand and promote regulatory portfolio to new and existing clients; Managing relationships with clients and external partners; preparing quotes and proposals. Supporting the regulatory advisors in all client interactions and encouraging proactive client engagement.
  • Regulatory consultancy 20%: Delivering core regulatory services (labelling services, ingredient/formulation compliance services, regulatory translations, market entry reports, and any such services) on time and within budget; Project management; answering questions from members, other clients and colleagues on the content, application, and interpretation of the food legislation; Representing company at events, conferences, meetings, forums; maintaining and extending a high level of awareness of current food legislation, related issues, and likely developments.
  • Process management 10%: Establishing, managing, and developing processes and applying control in the form of improvement and root cause analysis; supporting the development of quality assurance, customer service, and internal protocols; implementing, reviewing, and optimising of internal and client processes.

What we’re looking for

  • Graduate level qualification(s) in science, law, or related subjects
  • Experience of legislation in Europe and other international markets, including language skills ideally
  • An extensive knowledge of food law acquired in a commercial, enforcement or policy setting and significant practical experience in delivering projects in this area.
  • Good understanding of the food industry.
  • Strong team management skills – ability to motivate and coach
  • Track record of larger scale project management and securing significant revenue
  • Strong leadership, problem solving
  • Proven IT skills, experience using AI platforms for professional purposes (amateur level)
  • Excellent presenting skills.
  • Customer service-oriented and committed to providing an outstanding level of service to all
  • Highly organised and process driven, ability to multi-task, time management and prioritisation skills working with tight deadlines.
  • A friendly, can-do, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude with a strong desire to make the role, team and the business succeed.
