The Opportunity
This apprenticeship combines hands-on experience with academic learning, leading to a BSc (Hons) in Food Science & technology. You\\\’ll work within the Product & Ingredient Development Team, while attending university part-time to build a solid scientific foundation.
Responsibilities
- Supporting product testing for NPD and EPD, shelf-life studies, and wider projects
- Assisting with technical data analysis and documentation
- Gaining mentorship from industry professionals while studying for your degree
- Exploring ingredient functionality and nutritional properties
- Providing practical input to the execution of client work, a variety of contract and research projects
- Training other pilot plant users in the correct use of equipment
- Participation in department/business wide projects
- Assisting in health & safety, hygiene, good manufacturing activities
- Developing knowledge of a pilot plant equipment to include maintenance and records
Requirements
- Genuine interest in food science
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Motivation to learn and grow within the food industry
- Predicted A-levels (or equivalent) including at least one science subject or food technology (96 UKAS points)
- GCSE Maths & English- Level 4 or C and above
- Enthusiasm to learn
