CampbellReith is looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Manchester office. We have a vacancy for an experienced engineer to assist with the preparation and delivery of structural engineering designs. This is a unique role for a Structural Engineer to join CampbellReith’s Manchester office, working on an exciting mix of permanent building structures and temporary exhibition and event designs for high‑profile clients. The role offers hands‑on involvement from concept through to delivery, including design development, coordination, and on‑site sign‑off of event structures.
This role suits an engineer who enjoys variety, client engagement, and working across multiple sectors within a collaborative, forward‑thinking team. You will be working with a team of professionally chartered engineers (more than 40% of our structural engineers are chartered) who place real emphasis on developing the next generation of professional engineers. The role You’ll be involved in:
- Assisting in and reviewing the preparation of construction drawings.
- Undertaking site visits, surveys and inspections of structural works and existing building.
- Assisting in writing and preparing reports or sections thereof.
About you The role would suit an experienced graduate engineer with some recent experience of UK codes and Building Regulations and who is looking to continue working towards chartered status. Ideally, you’ll have:
- BEng, Meng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Experience of design in all materials (circa 3 years + post qualification)
- Recent experience of detailed design for a variety of Structural Projects.
- Experience in a range of relevant analytical software packages and 3D modelling, SCIA is highly desirable but not essential.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Eurocodes, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
- Experience of using proprietary software e.g. SCIA, MAsterseries and Word/Excel.
- A questioning / challenging approach.
- Ability to apply engineering judgment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage time and work to deadlines.
- Commitment to producing high quality work including reports.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and be flexible in their approach to work, with occasional travel to our Birmingham office and to event sites as required.
