Campbell Tickell are working on behalf of Newcastle City Council who are seeking a Head of Service specialising in Asset Management.

Newcastle is amid a social housing revolution with the city council set to take back control of its housing stock for the first time in two decades.

The recently created Housing and Communities Directorate will lead on the city’s social housing and housing strategy. Bringing social housing back into the council gives us an opportunity to integrate housing into our ambitions and our priorities and ensure our residents are at the heart of everything we do.
A career defining role in a fast-changing city has been created and we are looking for highly motivated individuals to be part of a dynamic senior leadership team, reporting to the Director of Housing and Communities. You must be an experienced leader and be committed to developing and showcasing the very best housing services for our residents and communities while driving our ambition to be a fair and inclusive city.
You will be passionate about housing, possess excellent stakeholder management and strategic partnering capabilities, genuinely care about residents, and demonstrate the ability to strengthen relationships internally and across the region whilst leading a dedicated team.
The successful applicant will provide the strategic and operational leadership, with large scale budget responsibility to achieve excellence in the delivery of our asset and compliance approaches for the Council's owned housing stock, ensuring that resources are delivering timely and considerate value for money outcomes for residents. The post holder will also have responsibility for the delivery of key initiatives such as the Social Housing Asset Management programme and defining capital investment requirements.
The closing date for this position is Wednesday 4th June 2025 at 9am. It is anticipated that successfully longlisted applicants will be invited to attend a technical interview week commencing 16th June 2025. Applicants who are successful at this stage will be invited to a panel interview in early July 2025.
