Campbell Scientific (Shepshed) are seeking a skilled Test and Calibration Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of various sensors and Campbell Scientific dataloggers returned for calibration or repair. This is a crucial role that ensures our products meet the high standards our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow detailed written procedures for testing and calibration on a range of dataloggers and meteorological sensors, including temperature/RH probes, barometers, anemometers, and rain gauges.
  • Develop skills to troubleshoot and repair products and test equipment at component level.
  • Utilize standard bench testing equipment such as Digital Multimeters (DMM), oscilloscopes, function generators, and other electronic test instruments.
  • Analyse electronic circuits and interpret schematics, datasheets, and test procedures.
  • Develop simple datalogger programs for testing and debugging purposes.
  • Disassemble, refurbish, and rebuild mechanical assemblies as needed.
  • Think critically to identify, troubleshoot, and solve complex problems.
  • Clearly communicate technical information both in writing and verbally, collaborating with other departments and directly with customers.
  • Assist other departments by providing guidance and answering product-related queries.
  • Maintain accurate records of calibration and repair activities.
  • Meet department deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Required Technical and Functional Skills

  • Ability to follow detailed written procedures with precision.
  • Competence in using bench testing equipment, including DMMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, and other electronic test tools.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret datasheets and test procedures.
  • Knowledge of disassembly, refurbishment, and repair processes.
