Job Description

Audit & Accounts Senior - Leeds city centre

Looking for your next move in Practice?

What's on offer:

  • Fantastic offices in central Leeds
  • 25 days holiday plus statutory days
  • Private medical
  • Pension scheme
  • Sociable events and team-building days
  • Strong career progression and development
  • Exposure to different departments across the firm

This could be an excellent opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Senior who wants more than just the same audit and accounts work on repeat.

We’re working with a well-established independent accountancy firm in central Leeds, with a brilliant team, a strong reputation and a genuine track record of developing people from within.

The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, wants to build strong client relationships and is keen to get exposure to more advisory work as they progress.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll work across a varied portfolio of SMEs, owner-managed businesses and private clients, with plenty of opportunity to take ownership of your work.

Your role will include:

  • Leading statutory audits from planning through to completion
  • Preparing year-end statutory accounts under FRS 102
  • Working on group accounts and consolidations
  • Preparing corporation tax computations
  • Reviewing work and supporting more junior members of the team
  • Building relationships with clients and becoming a trusted point of contact
  • Providing cloud accounting support across platforms including Xero and QuickBooks
  • Getting involved in ad hoc advisory and corporate finance projects, including due diligence, valuations and tax planning
  • Keeping up to date with relevant accounting and auditing standards

What we’re looking for:

You’ll ideally have at least two years’ UK practice experience and be ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified or actively working towards your qualification.

AAT-qualified candidates with the right experience will also be considered.

You’ll be confident with accounts preparation and audit and comfortable using accounting packages such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.

But just as importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys working with people, wants to develop and is ready to take the next step in their career.

If you're looking for a role where you can continue to develop, work with a great client base and have a clear route to progression, this could be worth a conversation.
