We are recruiting for an established independent accountancy practice just outside Leeds city centre.

It’s easily accessible by public transport, there’s onsite parking and it’s a friendly, established team.

This isn’t a role where you’ll be one small part of a huge tax department.

You’ll have your own portfolio of clients, plenty of contact with them and the opportunity to work closely with the Tax Partner and senior team.

What will you be doing?

Personal tax compliance is a big part of the role, so you’ll need to enjoy this side of tax and be confident managing your own portfolio.

You’ll also

  • Prepare and review self assessment tax returns and tax computations
  • Support clients with Capital Gains Tax queries and calculations
  • Liaise with HMRC and dealing with queries
  • Prepare trust, estate and partnership returns
  • Spot tax planning opportunities and get involved in advisory work
  • Support with more complex tax work
  • Review work and mentor more junior members of the team
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients
  • Take on more responsibility as the practice continues to grow

Who are they looking for?

  • Ideally, you’ll be qualified or currently studying towards ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA, with good experience in personal tax compliance.
  • You’ll be comfortable managing your own workload, dealing with clients and HMRC, and taking responsibility for your own portfolio.
  • Most importantly, they’re looking for someone ambitious, personable and keen to develop.
