We are supporting a mission‑led organisation with their search for a Technology Director/CTO to bring structure, clarity and momentum to a set of live technology, data and AI initiatives. This is not a classic IT leadership role. It is a strategic mandate focused on shaping how technology, data, AI and knowledge can better support organisational judgement, learning and decision‑making.
The organisation has already invested in several important initiatives, including modern data infrastructure, dashboarding, AI‑enabled insight generation, CRM/system evolution, and data governance. What is now needed is a senior leader who can connect these efforts into a coherent strategy, create architectural alignment, and establish the right governance and operating model for the next phase.
The role includes:
- Defining and formalising an enterprise IT, Data & AI strategy
- Aligning multiple live workstreams into a coherent programme
- Shaping the target architecture across systems, data, insight and knowledge
- Ensuring dashboards and analytics are developed as real decision‑support tools, not just reporting outputs
- Assessing core systems direction, including CRM / operating platform fit
- Defining practical AI guardrails, governance and risk controls
- Recommending the long‑term leadership and capability model
This is a role for someone who can move comfortably between board‑level strategy, architectural thinking, programme alignment and hands‑on problem‑solving.
Experience required:
- Senior experience in technology, data/AI leadership roles
- Startup / scale‑up experience, with the energy and pragmatism to shape and build in an evolving environment
- Strong enterprise architecture and systems thinking capability
- Experience aligning multiple cross‑functional workstreams
- Credibility in data platforms, analytics, dashboarding and AI enablement
- Strong understanding of governance, operating models, security and risk
- The ability to work with senior stakeholders and bring clarity to ambiguity
