Wonderful chance to run the central finance function of a leading, independent digital media Group. We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a fast-growing, acquisitive business at a pivotal stage of its evolution. Reporting to the CFO, this role will lead the Group finance function, ensuring best-in-class financial reporting, governance, controls and scalable processes across the organisation.

The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting strategic growth initiatives, including acquisition integration, finance transformation and systems migrations:

  • Group Reporting & Financial Control
    • Lead the Group’s monthly, half-year and year-end reporting processes, ensuring timely, accurate and high-quality financial information.
    • Manage the preparation and consolidation of Group statutory accounts under IFRS.
    • Own the Group consolidation process across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Acquisitions & Integration
    • Support financial due diligence and integration activities for acquisitions.
    • Lead post-acquisition finance integration, including alignment of reporting, controls, accounting policies and operating processes.
  • Systems & Finance Transformation
    • Lead or support finance systems implementations and migrations, including ERP optimisation and reporting automation initiatives.
  • Controls, Governance & Process Excellence
    • Establish and maintain a robust financial control environment.
    • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, policies and controls to support scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead, mentor and develop the Group finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Applications are invited from qualified accountants (ideally ACA) with significant post-qualification experience in a high-growth, acquisitive or private equity-backed business. You will naturally need strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS and Group consolidations within complex multi-entity structures. This will help with integrating acquisitions and being closely involved in finance systems transformation programmes. You will need excellent communication, team and stakeholder management skills, in addition to a strong sense of commercial flair that is in the DNA of this highly entrepreneurial organisation. This is a super opportunity for a hands-on Controller to gain a really broad suite of skills in a group that is large and complex enough to be challenging but small enough to offer plenty of exposure to the Board, systems and commercial activities outside head office.
