Rapidly growing, global independent TV and creative production studio are looking for an exceptional Commercial Finance Analyst to join their London based finance team. The business is going through an exciting period of growth and transformation, and as a result are looking to bolster their commercial finance function with this hire. This role will play a pivotal role in driving financial planning and commercial analysis across all aspects of the studio.
The Role - Commercial Finance Analyst:
- Reporting to and supporting the Commercial Director
- Duties would include budgets, forecast, revenue recognition, commercial pitch assessments, analysing personnel costs and hiring requests.
- Help manage and optimise margins partnering budget holders to identify and evaluate profit enhancement initiatives.
- Operational and commercial insights; build models tracking project profitability, develop reporting frameworks for KPIs, track project financial performance in collaboration with producers.
- Support strategic resource planning; work with operations and HR to align headcount, freelance strategy and resources with project revenue mix.
- Create system for capacity forecasting, efficiency and cost control.
- Support with long term business planning and forecasting.
The Person - Commercial Finance Analyst:
- Ideally qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in FP&A and commercial and strategic finance, ideally within media, television, or entertainment
- Strong understanding of production finance, budgeting, cost tracking, and revenue models
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial data into actionable insights for senior stakeholders
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
