Award-winning independent film & television production company are looking for a Director of Finance to work closely with the CEO. This role will report to and act as a deputy to the COO CFO, and have responsibility for the corporate finance function as well as the day-to-day running of the company's finance operations. Across both equity and debt fundraising transactions, investor relations and corporate transactions, this varied and commercial role offers the opportunity for an organised, ambitious self-starter to make a valuable contribution to corporate strategy and financing execution as the business implements strategic investment initiatives and continues to grow. This is a hugely exciting time to join the business with active plans to accelerate its global reach, based on a proven track record in Europe, with launches in the USA & Canada, LATAM, and Asia.
Responsibilities
- Corporate Finance
- Preparation of investor materials and documentation to support equity fundraising rounds, new debt issues and refinancing transactions
- Accountability of our compliance with requirements related to the company's debt facilities
- Provide hands on co-ordination of shareholder events/presentations
- Work alongside the Head of Legal & Business Affairs in support of the execution of corporate transactions, and preparation of information in support of company secretariat
- Ad-hoc financial modelling and valuation analysis
- Support the company's strategic analysis, including monitoring of industry news and developments
- Reviewing monthly management accounts for five Group companies and the Group consolidation
- Reviewing monthly department reporting packs and presenting them to the related business partners
- Continuously streamline and improve the management accounts and department reporting processes
- Managing the annual audit and be the main contact for auditors
- Managing cashflows and preparing cashflow forecasts
- Preparing the HR budget model and supporting with the annual budgeting process
- Liaising with HR and our external payroll provider to carry out the monthly payroll process
- Preparing and tracking share option grants and reporting the ERS annual submission
- Reviewing the bi-annual royalty statements
- Reviewing VAT, P11D, PSA submissions to HMRC
The person
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or other chartered accountancy qualification ideally from a top tier accounting organisation
- Experience working with investor backed businesses
- High levels of attention to detail and the ability to manage complex data
- Able to effectively communicate financial information to a range of stakeholders, including non-financial audiences
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects and stakeholders
- Experience managing a team and ensuring they are effectively working and developing
- Experience of a global media start-up environment is an advantage
- Entrepreneurial outlook, an analytical background and excellent presentation of materials skills
- Ability to analyse data, present financial data
- Competent on PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Technical knowledge of UK auditing standards, UK GAAP and international accounting standards
- Highly organised and able to calmly prioritise projects, being mindful of key deadlines while maintaining a view of the big picture
