Global, award winning Creative Advertising Agency are looking for a talented and driven Commercial Controller to run the day to day of the commercial finance function and provide the best possible commercial support to the broader business. As a senior member of the organisation you will assume a leadership role within the finance team. In addition to maintaining smooth commercial processes, you will have an interest in new technologies and how best to utilise them to streamline operations, and improve our commercial offering. You will also be a Business Partner for a client portfolio, business unit and key stakeholders in the business, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting and being a trusted senior member of the organisation.
The role:
- Commercial Ownership of the UK client portfolio, ensuring accurate forecasting, PO’s received on time, fee’s reviewed + challenged, fee approval processes adhered to, all fees have a corresponding SOW, rate cards are correct and reviewed throughout the year.
- Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders in Business Partnering capacity.
- Support and lead on pitches and further improve the new business pitch data we supply to the New Business Team.
- Review SOW with Business Leads along with Legal to understand and report back any issues.
- Build relationship with Department Heads in a Business Partner capacity.
- Continuously review the Commercial Reporting, looking for better ways to operate.
- Look to automate and drive solutions with AI where possible.
- Lead on the paid for analysis and Utilisation reporting with department heads/resource managers.
- Fully understanding the department profitability and what is driving the Gross Profit Margin.
- Improve profitability reporting (client, company, product, weekly snapshots).
- Support on annual audit for your portfolio.
The person:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a proven Digital-First mindset.
- 5+ years commercial and business partnering experience gained within a Marketing Services or Production business.
- Must demonstrate a track record of using AI and emerging technologies to streamline commercial workflows, moving beyond static spreadsheets to create dynamic, automated, and engaging financial insights.
- Organised, structured way of working – able to manage multiple deadlines with good communication.
- Commercially astute, able to flag issues before they arise.
- Able to maintain a good working relationship with Senior members of the agency.
