About The Fabadousa Group

The Fabadousa Group is a growing group of businesses operating across different sectors. Bringing together a range of brands and teams, we focus on delivering quality, supporting our people and continuing to develop our businesses. Strong financial processes and informed commercial decisions play an important role in supporting this growth and ensuring our businesses continue to move forward.

About the Role

We are looking for a commercially minded and hands‑on Finance Manager to join Fabadousa Group in Maldon, Essex.

In this role, you will take ownership of management accounting, financial control and commercial reporting across the businesses you support. Working in a highly entrepreneurial environment, you will balance strong financial discipline with the pace and changing priorities of a growing business.

You will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, improving processes and providing clear, practical insight to help business leaders make quick, well‑informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the month‑end close and deliver accurate, timely management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and revenue recognition.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet control, including reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany balances, payroll and VAT.
  • Oversee income reconciliations, receivables, credit control, payables and working capital.
  • Partner with operational leaders to review performance, challenge assumptions and agree actions.
  • Respond quickly to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy, control and commercial focus.

Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis

  • Prepare clear reporting on profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and key performance indicators.
  • Analyse performance against budget, forecast and prior year, highlighting the drivers of variances, risks and opportunities.
  • Lead budgeting, reforecasting and cash‑flow planning, adapting assumptions as the business evolves.
  • Build practical models and scenarios for pricing, investment, growth initiatives and resource decisions.
  • Support year‑end accounts, audit and external advisers.

Financial Control, Compliance and Leadership

  • Maintain proportionate financial controls, clear audit trails and compliance with relevant UK requirements.
  • Improve finance systems, data quality and processes so reporting remains scalable as the business changes.
  • Translate financial information into concise, practical recommendations for non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Coach and develop finance team members where applicable, setting clear priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially aware, proactive and confident taking ownership in a growing business.

You will have:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification, with ACCA, CIMA or ACA membership.
  • Strong management accounting experience, including month‑end, balance sheet control, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
  • The commercial awareness to challenge assumptions, influence decisions and turn financial data into practical action.
  • The ability to work comfortably with ambiguity, changing priorities and the demands of an entrepreneurial environment.
  • A hands‑on, resilient and solutions‑focused approach, with sound judgement and close attention to detail.
  • Advanced spreadsheet and financial‑systems skills.
  • Experience in a multi‑site or multi‑company environment would be advantageous.

What Success Looks Like

  • Accurate management accounts and reliable forecasts are delivered on time.
  • Leaders receive clear insight and act early on risks and opportunities.
  • Controls remain effective while processes become faster and more scalable.
  • Finance is recognised as an agile, trusted and commercially focused partner.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm (40 hours per week). Part‑time applications may also be considered for the right candidate, depending on business needs.
