About the Role

As part of the Camp Beaumont Management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of your camp, ensuring everything operates smoothly, safely and effectively throughout the school holidays.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the on-site Safeguarding Lead, ensuring any relevant incidents are appropriately recorded and reported.
  • Managing ongoing staff performance, providing support, guidance and feedback where required.
  • Overseeing day-to-day camp administration and responsibilities to ensure the camp runs smoothly and all operational requirements are met.
  • Building positive relationships and strong rapport with parents/carers, schools, staff and children.
  • Providing supportive and appropriate feedback to parents/carers regarding their children, ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout their time at camp.
  • Being a visible and hands-on leader across camp, supporting staff and stepping in where required.
  • Handling day-to-day issues, last-minute staffing changes and unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
  • Ensuring the camp is properly set up at the start of the day and closed down safely at the end of each day.
  • Communicating and reporting into the Operations Team, keeping them updated on any significant issues, incidents, staffing concerns or operational challenges.

A Day in the Life of a Management Team Member

We’re looking for an experienced, confident and hands-on Camp Manager who can take ownership of the day-to-day running of a busy holiday camp and create a safe, fun and positive environment for children and staff.

You will ideally have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, schools and staff.
  • The confidence to be a visible and hands-on leader, supporting your team and getting involved in the day-to-day running of camp.
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently, while knowing when to upscale issues to the Operations Team.
  • High levels of energy, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Strong conflict handling and resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused when managing challenging situations.
  • Paediatric First Aid is desirable, but training can be provided as part of our training programme.
  • A fun, positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to get involved in activities and camp life.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in wherever needed to support the team and children.

Must Haves:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare (including Early Years, QTS/PGCE) or currently studying towards a relevant childcare qualification.
  • Over 18 years old and available to work during the school holidays.
  • A UK/EU citizen with 2 x right to work IDs.
  • Previous experience working within a holiday camp, children's activity camp or similar setting, with experience taking on a leadership or management role.
  • Experience leading and supporting a team, including providing feedback and managing staff performance.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness, with the confidence to identify, respond to and appropriately report safeguarding concerns and incidents.
