Over time, the role will expand into other innovative data solutions, including AI- and machine learning-driven insights and other statistical techniques.
This role requires close collaboration with product managers, product owners, data engineering, and other internal and external product and technology experts.
The right candidate will be capable of blending the needs of customers and internal technical and business groups to create a platform roadmap and will work with the R&D teams to ensure smooth delivery.
This person will have a demonstrable track record of telling a compelling story and providing actionable information using data visualization techniques.
- Primary Responsibilities
- In partnership with the broader Product Management, Development and Innovation teams, Customers and Sales teams, prioritise and lead product feature design and development against roadmap priorities and other platform opportunities.
- Define scope, requirements, and usability for end-user facing data visualization and embedded analytics capabilities, including personalization.
- Design, and at times build, analytics content within our Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI and machine learning — such as natural language querying, automated insights, or predictive analytics — within the GRC analytics experience.
- Assist in the upskilling of the Custom Reporting team in requirements design and data visualization best practice.
- Contribute to mapping relationships between key business concepts, including unstructured data, to support Master Data Management across the organization.
- Propose multiple potential solutions for complex or new problems and make objective recommendations on the direction to take.
- Continually assess and integrate internal and external customer feedback and business metrics.
- Stay on top of market trends to determine new or enhanced product capabilities that positively impact user experience.
- Work within an agile delivery framework, partnering closely with development and QA teams to ensure requirements translate into well-understood, deliverable epics and user stories.
- Perform with a wide degree of latitude on creative solutions.
Your current skillset will include
- An understanding of GRC processes and technologies, and the reporting and analytics needs of GRC stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with modern data and BI platforms; strong working knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric is highly valued, with experience in Salesforce, Izenda, Exago, Domo, or Cognos considered a plus.
- Familiarity with best-practice data and data visualization principles and methodologies, and with embedded analytics products.
- Experience building and designing products that use both real-time and batch data at scale, and an understanding of the underlying data architecture (e. g. lakehouse, star schema).
- Ability to write and validate SQL queries, and to trace data flows end-to-end to ensure data quality.
- Awareness of how AI and machine learning capabilities are being applied within analytics and BI tooling.
- Experience taking direction and input from multiple sources and shaping a shared product vision.
- Familiarity with agile development processes, and comfortable working closely with development and QA teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work across a diverse scope of projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, and sound judgement.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a similar technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience in a data/analytics product role.
- 4-7 years’ experience working with data visualization and reporting solutions in a hands-on and design capacity.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of a visual design methodology used to capture customer and product requirements.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the enterprise technology domain, such as cloud technologies, open source, and analytics.
- 4-7 years’ experience as a Data Scientist, or as a product manager working closely with Data Scientists on big data, database management, and enterprise software products.
- Hands-on experience with Master Data Management, modelling, and governance, preferably within the B2B space.
