Our client is currently recruiting for an Electronics Supervisor. Based in Barrow-in-Furness, the role will be on a permanent (staff) basis.
ROLE
The primary objective of the Electronic Supervisor is to oversee and manage the electronic systems within the workshop, ensuring the efficient and safe delivery of subsea equipment. This will include a significant portion of time being hands-on delivery of products for projects. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, coordinating maintenance and repair activities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations as well as managing all aspects of the Electronic workshop within the Barrow site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervision and Coordination: Supervise and coordinate electrical installation and maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Inspection and Troubleshooting: Inspect electrical systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently. Understanding of the principles of fault finding.
- Team Management: Manage and assign tasks to electricians and other team members, providing guidance and training on best practices.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain project records, prepare reports, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Equipment Management: Ensure the proper use of electrical tools and equipment, monitor project progress, and ensure timely completion within budget. Quality Assurance of products is a key aspect of this role.
REQUIREMENTS

- Experience: Proven experience as an Electronic Supervisor or similar role, with a strong background in electrical systems, wiring, and safety regulations.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications or licenses in electrical work.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and safety standards. Ability to interpret electrical drawings. General hand tool competence and wiring essential.
- Computer Literacy: Experience in MS Office package essential.
- Advanced Certifications: Additional certifications in specialised areas of electrical work such as HNC/HND/BEng/Meng. Moulding Experience Preferred.
- Project Management: Experience in managing small to large-scale electrical projects.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with subsea equipment and related industry standards. Electrical knowledge is preferred.
- Design Experience: Electronic Design experience preferred. AutoCAD experience preferred. Software and firmware development experience preferred.
