Our client, a leading and well-established oil and gas operator, is currently recruiting for a Senior Drilling Engineer, based in Aberdeen. The role will be an initial 12-month contract with extension thereafter.

ROLE

The Senior Drilling Engineer will have responsibilities in all aspects of Well Integrity, Well Construction, Well Intervention, Well Decommissioning and Well Abandonment projects. Duties will cover design, execution and close out of all aspects of the drilling, completions, subsea and well testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and significantly involved in the design, planning and execution of well operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Analyse offset data, generate and evaluate design options, assess risks, prepare detailed design and programme documents, prepare MOC's and dispensations to policy, prepare Examination and Notification/Consent applications, prepare time and cost estimates, procure services, equipment and materials and co-ordinate suppliers and service providers.
  • Provide the rig team with technical, planning and operational support by co-ordinating the onshore internal and external team members to plan contingencies, resolve problems and execute rig operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Support the Well Integrity team on engineering reviews of well integrity issues of operating, suspended and long-term shut-in wells.
