Cammach are currently recruiting a Technical Operations Assistant on behalf of our client based in Aberdeen - South. The role will be on a permanent (staff) basis and will be fully office based.

ROLE

The Technical Support Assistant provides administrative, coordination, and technical support to the Technical Support Coordinator, helping to ensure efficient delivery of customer and internal technical support activities. The role focuses on documentation, task coordination, data accuracy, and communication across departments, enabling the Technical Support Coordinator to concentrate on higher‑value technical, engineering, and customer‑facing activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical & Project Support
    • Assist with the coordination of project kick-off meetings, including preparing agendas, tracking actions, and issuing follow-ups.
    • Support the preparation, organisation, and revision control of technical documentation (e.g. drawings, rig surveys, loadout information, equipment lists).
    • Assist with basic review and checking of technical drawings and documents under supervision.
    • Help gather and consolidate technical and operational information from internal teams and customers.
    • Support Technology Manager with SolidWorks & Pipe flow requirement.
    • Attend customer meetings to discuss project requirements, as well as attend job HAZOP/HAZID’s.
    • Proactively evaluate and recommend innovations to drive continuous improvement across the Product Line.
  • Documentation & Systems Management
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing of project documents within company SharePoint Server and QMS systems.
    • Support the preparation, storage, and issuing of Design of Service documents and job packs.
    • Assist with compiling and updating equipment certification records.
    • Ensure daily project updates, trackers, and QMS forms are completed and stored correctly.
  • Operations Support
    • Support Operations and Workshop teams with job-specific paperwork and pre/post-job documentation.
    • Support the Operations team in all operational, logistical, and departmental tasks.
    • Raise purchase orders in accordance with company policy.
    • Assist with preparation of loadout manifests and logistics documentation based on provided inputs.
    • Attend operations meetings to record actions and circulate updates.
    • Conduct offshore/onshore rig survey’s if/when required.
    • Participate in the on-call rota.
  • Communication & Coordination
    • Act as a first point of contact for routine technical and operational queries, escalating as required.
    • Support communication between Operations, Engineering, Workshop, and offshore personnel.
    • Assist in tracking outstanding actions and ensuring timely close-out.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a technical support role within the oil and gas industry is essential.
  • Experience with SolidWorks & CAD is an advantage.
  • Experience with Pipe Flow software is also an advantage.
  • Be computer-literate for the daily use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook email.
  • Driving license is essential.
