Our client, an oil and gas operator, is currently recruiting for a Senior Well Intervention Engineer. Based in their office in Aberdeen, and contract duration will be approximately 4-6 months.
ROLE
The Position holder is responsible for supporting the platform and subsea operated well interventions across all Company assets, ensuring optimal safety, technical and commercial performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that the WTI (Well treatment and intervention) engineering team complies with Statutory and Company health and safety policies/procedures.
- Ensure the WTI engineering team maintains a high level of safety performance with no environmental issues during activities.
- Interfaces appropriately with the Assets; OPS, GSR, WP, P&G, SHE and other TS entities to ensure Intervention requests are promptly and accurately prepared.
- Promotes the Manager-Coach ethos within the WTI engineering team. Mentor junior members of the engineering team.
- Provide support to all intervention operations (Covering a wide range of interventions such as Pumping, Stimulation, Coiled tubing, Slickline, Wireline, Well Maintenance, Well Integrity, E-line and snubbing operations).
- Ensure the Well Interventions planning is optimised to achieve the operation objectives within the agreed time scale and budget.
- Propose technical and commercial improvements and drive a performance culture within the engineering team.
- Provides technical input to the Wells Review, Produce to the Limit and technical screening exercises of the Assets.
- Assist with the Well Intervention planning, promoting cost saving practices and identifying efficiencies.
- Ensures well intervention operations are prepared in compliance with company and statutory standards.
- Develops and updates Well Treatment and Intervention CMS procedures in line with Company Rules.
- Writes and Reviews Well Intervention programmes, HSE notifications and technical documents ensuring consistency and compliance with company requirements.
- Follows the status of WTI contracts and WTI expenditures. Initiates and prepare CFTs as the technical individual of the duet.
- Develops estimated cost and duration, for interventions or elements of specific operations.
- Intermittently visits and audits service companies, focusing on contractor equipment and Company owned equipment stored by the Service companies.
- Follows up and reviews the lessons learnt and REXs issued within WTI section.
- Chairs all Interventions on Paper and supports the Engineers at Peer Reviews and wash up meetings. Ensures end of Intervention reports are completed to the required standard.
- Participates in risk assessments, HAZOPs or HAZIDs as required.
- Organizes regular offshore visits: Audit, Pre job meeting, SHE.
- Follows up special and/or specific projects as required.
- Actively Pursues New Technology and shares within WTI section, TS, the Assets and HQ.
REQUIREMENTS
- Educated to degree level or similar in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering related discipline.
- Demonstrate significant ability through experience and proven achievements in this field with considerable experience within Well Engineering.
- Technical expertise in well operations for platform and subsea well equipment and operations are essential.
- Must be a drilling, completion and well intervention professional who has gained the requisite expertise through extensive training and vast operational experience.
- Must have a significant knowledge of oil & gas industry, Intervention and production operations, coupled with a good knowledge of geology, reservoir and logistic operations.
- In addition, a significant knowledge/experience of accounting/finance, contract & procurement, IT, legal, insurance, safety and quality assurance.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Must have Right to Work in UK, as sponsorship is unavailable.
