Cammach are currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Engineer on behalf of our Aberdeen-based client. This contract position runs until 18 December 2026 and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

ROLE

Ensures there is consistency, diligence and rigour applied to project budgeting, cost performance and forecasting throughout the project delivery process, delivering cost reporting and cost control on nominated projects, sets and provides variance analysis against the Master Control Estimate, to annual business plans (plan) and quarterly forecasts (LV 1 -4) allowing effective and efficient roll up to a portfolio level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for setting up a Master Control Estimate and managing the re-baselining process through current control estimates.
  • Working closely with the SAP Admin team ensures PO allocation to the correct WBS.
  • For either projects or portfolio, captures commitments, actuals and forecasting based on reviews of schedules, completing cost reports and performing cost control through analysis of variances and use of Earned Value Management.
  • Responsible for portfolio or several projects delivering cost control and reporting according to the Projects Operating Rhythm.
  • Supports SAP Admin Team to deliver improvement initiatives relating to SAP reporting and analysing and housekeeping activities, such that PO, WBS, and project can be closed timely.
  • Detailed activities include, but are not limited to: Accruals, Vendor Cost Management, Actuals / VOWD, Reviewing EAC / Finalising Cost Reports and S-Curves.
  • Creating Purchase Requisitions and Service Entries.

REQUIREMENTS

  • APM or PMI preferred (Competent to APM Senior Cost Engineer profile level).
  • Qualification or experience in Project cost control.
  • Able to analyse and challenge internal project teams and main contractors.
  • Analytical and systematic approach with an eye for detail.
  • Display safety leadership in your day to day work, taking personal responsibility not only for your own safety but for the safety of others.
  • Drive agile but compliant project cost control.
  • Proactively forecasts utilising the project controls schedule and contractor reports.
  • Proven relationship-builder, internally and externally, across various disciplines and functions.
  • Significant experience in processing and reporting from SAP, including reporting and analysing project WBS and PO data, closing out PO’s / WBS’s.
  • Significant experience and knowledge of MS Office or Office 365 software, especially Excel.
  • An understanding of Project Controls, across Planning, Cost, Risk, MoC, EvM.
