Cammach is currently recruiting a Production Manager on behalf of our Aberdeen-based client. The position is offered on a Full time Permanent staff basis.

\n

The Role

\n

Production Manager key objectives: to ensure the production and delivery of orders on time and in full, with the correct QA process followed throughout. This role provides hands-on technical support (mechanical and/or electrical) to workshop technicians where necessary, ensuring a smooth transition of equipment through the production line. The Production Manager also acts as a point of contact for clients after sales, supporting future pre-orders and client demonstrations, and works closely with the buyer to ensure the production team's requirements are met for efficient build and delivery of equipment. The role includes leading a team of technicians, with a strong focus on personnel development, training, and competence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

\n

\n

• Production & Delivery: Responsible for the production and delivery of orders on time and in full, ensuring the correct QA process is followed at every stage

\n

• Technical Support: Responsible for the workshop technicians, providing hands-on technical (mechanical and/or electrical) support where necessary

\n

• Production Line Management: Ensure a smooth transition of equipment through the production line, identifying and resolving bottlenecks as they arise

\n

• After Sales Care: Continue to support clients after sales, including handling future pre-orders, acting as the client point of contact for follow-up discussions, and supporting client demonstration

\n

• Team Leadership: Lead a team of technicians, with a focus on personnel development, training, and competence

\n

• Buyer Support: Support the buyer with production team requirements, allowing for the efficient build and delivery of equipment

\n

• Health, Safety & Environment: Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture within the workshop, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, safe systems of work, and risk assessments/method statements for all production activities

\n

• Materials & Resource Planning: Work with procurement and stores to ensure components, materials, and equipment are available as required, avoiding delays to the production schedule

\n

• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate build, test, and inspection records in line with client's QA procedures and relevant industry/classification standards for ROV and subsea equipment

\n

 • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to production processes, workshop layout, and working methods to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness

\n

• Budget & Resource Control: Monitor production costs, labour, and resource utilisation against budget, escalating variances and supporting cost-effective delivery of orders

\n

• Supplier & Subcontractor Liaison: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the timely and quality delivery of outsourced components, machining, and services required for production

\n

• Testing & Commissioning Oversight: Oversee or coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT) and commissioning of ROV and subsea equipment prior to dispatch, ensuring equipment meets performance and client specifications s.

\n

REQUIREMENTS

\n

Experience-Essential:

\n

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, ideally in a supervisory or team-lead capacity

\n

• Technical Skills: Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical skills, with the ability to provide practical support to workshop technicians

\n

• Education: Relevant qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline (e.g. NC/HNC or equivalent), or demonstrable relevant experience

\n

Preferred Skills / Experience:

\n

• Industry Experience: Experience in subsea equipment or ROV systems is preferred

\n

• Production Experience: Previous experience in production and manufacturing is preferred

\n

• Client-Facing Experience: Experience supporting clients after sales and during equipment demonstrations

\n

• Career Development: Willingness to lead a team of technicians, with a genuine interest in personnel development, training, and competence
