Cammach are currently recruiting for an Accounts Administrator on behalf of our Aberdeen-based client. The company is growing rapidly, creating an exciting opportunity to join a developing and expanding business. This is a permanent (staff) opportunity which will be fully office based.
ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Accounts Administrator to join our clients growing marine safety business in Aberdeen. This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of accounts administration while also supporting the wider business wherever required. As a small to medium-sized company, we are looking for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves, take ownership of their workload, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the business. No two days are the same, and flexibility and a positive attitude are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounts Administration
- Processing sales invoices and credit notes
- Managing purchase ledger activities and supplier invoices
- Reconciling creditor and debtor accounts
- Credit control and customer account management
- Processing supplier payments
- Bank reconciliations
- Monitoring cash flow and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with monthly management accounts preparation
- Supporting VAT returns and year-end audit requirements
- Processing employee expenses
- Maintaining purchase order records and ensuring financial compliance
- Assisting with payroll administration where required
- Business Support & Additional Duties
- Providing general administrative support across the business
- Assisting with project administration and customer documentation
- Supporting stock control and inventory reporting
- Helping coordinate logistics, shipping and supplier information
- Maintaining company databases and records
- Supporting health, safety and quality administration
- Assisting with event planning, client visits and office management activities
- Supporting directors and operational teams with ad hoc administrative tasks
- Taking on additional responsibilities as the business grows
REQUIREMENTS
- Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts administration, finance assistant or bookkeeping role
- Experience working within an SME environment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and reconciliations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using Sage, Xero or similar accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Able to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Positive, flexible attitude with a willingness to get involved in wider business activities
- Excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality
