As HSE Officer, you will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace across the Camlin Group including its sub-divisions – Camlin energy and Camlin Rail. This includes supporting compliance with legal requirements, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement in Camlin’s safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of HSE policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Conduct local and international site inspections, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are tracked and completed.
- Support the delivery of HSE training programs, inductions, and toolbox talks companywide.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, training, and compliance using Camlin’s HSE management systems.
- Collaborate with operational and field service teams to ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) are in place and adhered to.
- Monitor contractor compliance and support pre-qualification / due-diligence processes.
- Promote awareness of emergency preparedness, including fire safety, first aid, and evacuation procedures.
- Assist in environmental monitoring and sustainability initiatives.
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation, standards, and industry developments.
Qualifications & Skills – Essential Criteria
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within HSE Officer role.
- Excellent verbal communication, written reporting, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills and willingness to travel to satellite locations globally, as required.
- Ability to analyse complex data and produce actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
Qualifications & Skills – Desirable Criteria
- IOSH membership or working towards (e.g., TechIOSH).
- IOSH approved Manual Handling Train the Trainer Qualification.
- Construction Skills Register (CSR) card holder.
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or field service environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
