We have an exciting opportunity for a PLM Planner to join Camlin Energy. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring end-to-end operational delivery of products — from engineering handover and production planning through to full-scale manufacturing and customer fulfilment. This role will be responsible for a group of products. The role combines operational change leadership with hands-on production planning, providing structure, clarity, and alignment across multiple functions. You will lead the effective transition of new and existing products into operations, manage change control throughout the product lifecycle, and develop robust production plans to meet customer demand, quality standards, and delivery commitments. This role is more organisational and coordination-focused than purely technical, requiring strong communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills, alongside a solid understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the practical planning and transition of products from engineering development into operational delivery, including scale-up to meet customer and field service demand.
- Ensure cross-functional operational alignment so products meet or exceed customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery.
- Coordinate Operations teams for engineering change and product introduction.
- Act as the primary operations representative for assigned "Product Group" teams, understanding product roadmap, product lifecycle and engineering change.
- Feed Operations issues into Product Group and communicate Product direction into Operations team.
- Coordinate and manage product lifecycle change control activities through ECR/ECO processes, minimising risk, disruption, and waste.
- Responsible for data management in ERP system for seamless product introduction and engineering change.
- Identify, raise, and escalate blockers or issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted product delivery.
- Communicate engineering change and impact with field service team.
- Collaborate proactively with stakeholders across sales, finance, procurement, stores, quality, manufacturing, production, field service, and engineering.
- Manage interpersonal relationships across departments to align teams and leaders around a shared product delivery vision.
- Develop, maintain, and execute clear and achievable production plans to meet customer demand.
- Plan, create, and schedule manufacturing orders in line with sales orders, operations plans, and capacity constraints.
- Work closely with Purchasing to coordinate inbound logistics to meet production plans.
- Confirm and communicate delivery dates as part of the sales order process.
- Monitor and manage capacity levels in line with stock strategy and operational priorities.
- Monitor, manage, and expedite material shortages in line with kitting and production requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, planning accuracy, and operational performance.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Third-level qualification (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production assembly environment.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end operations delivery, from sales through to customer fulfilment.
- Experience with new product introduction (NPI) in a production and/or field service environment.
- At least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or supply chain role (e.g. Planner, Buyer, Expeditor, Purchasing Assistant).
- Practical experience using MRP systems within a manufacturing or supply chain operation.
- Strong planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Clear, confident communicator with strong relationship-building abilities.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to balance competing operational priorities.
- Experience managing or coaching others, formally or informally.
- Eligibility to work in the EU.
DESIRED (NOT ESSENTIAL)
- Understanding of electromechanical product assembly and/or design.
- Experience leading or coordinating projects across multiple departments.
- High emotional intelligence and strong stakeholder management capability.
- Familiarity with capacity planning, stock strategies, and production optimisation techniques.
