Camira are a multi-award-winning textile manufacturer with two centuries of heritage and a forward-thinking approach to innovation and sustainability. Camira designs and manufactures environmental fabrics for the commercial, public transport and residential sectors.

Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of production machinery by delivering timely engineering support, minimising downtime, and contributing to efficient and safe manufacturing processes.

To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on textile machinery, including:

  • Tenters
  • Jet dyeing machines
  • Wool milling and dyeing machines
  • Textile finishing and preparation equipment

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime. Ensure all machinery operates in line with manufacturing specifications and performance standards. Maintain ancillary infrastructure and facilities such as steam, water, effluent, services and power. Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning new equipment and upgrades. Support improvements to machinery efficiency, reliability, and energy performance. Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment is safe and compliant. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Support contractors and external engineers when required.

Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent) and 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and PAT Testing (desirable). Experience with industrial machinery (textile machinery highly desirable). Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments.
