Purpose of the role:
- Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of production machinery by delivering timely engineering support, minimising downtime, and contributing to efficient and safe manufacturing processes.
- Adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on textile machinery, including: Tenters, Jet dyeing machines, Wool milling and dyeing machines, Textile finishing and preparation equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Ensure all machinery operates in line with manufacturing specifications and performance standards.
- Maintain ancillary infrastructure and facilities such as steam, water, effluent, services and power.
- Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning new equipment and upgrades.
- Support improvements to machinery efficiency, reliability, and energy performance.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment is safe and compliant.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Support contractors and external engineers when required.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).
- 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and PAT Testing (desirable).
- Experience with industrial machinery (textile machinery highly desirable).
- Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments.
