We are working with a well-established, international recruitment and professional services business with a strong presence across the UK and overseas. The business operates across multiple specialist markets and has a collaborative, fast-paced environment where Finance works closely with consultants, clients and senior stakeholders. They are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their growing Finance team. This is a broad role that would suit someone early in their accounting career who is looking to build strong exposure across billing, revenue, reconciliations, reporting and wider finance operations.
The Role
- Working closely with the Pay & Bill Manager and senior Finance leadership, you will support the day-to-day finance function and work closely with the wider commercial business.
- Preparing permanent placement invoices and ensuring accurate billing information.
- Liaising with consultants and clients to obtain billing details and purchase order information.
- Managing placement changes and updating sales invoices accordingly.
- Supporting contractor billing and reviewing approved timesheets.
- Producing weekly revenue reporting for Directors and senior stakeholders.
- Uploading sales and purchase invoice data between the CRM and accounting system.
- Refreshing contractor billing and performance reports.
- Supporting weekly payment runs.
- Completing monthly revenue reconciliations between CRM and accounting systems.
- Supporting quarterly revenue reconciliations and reporting.
- Running and reviewing the general ledger and assisting with month-end processes.
- Supporting T&E budgeting and wider finance projects.
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance and administrative requirements.
You should have:
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
- Ideally be studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or another accounting qualification.
- Good Excel skills and confidence learning new systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with non-finance stakeholders.
- The ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach and willingness to get involved across the wider Finance function.
