Finance Assistant into its expanding finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within finance.

Working alongside an experienced finance team, you'll gain exposure across a broad range of transactional finance responsibilities, with clear opportunities to develop into payroll, financial operations and wider finance processes as your experience grows.

The business operates internationally and supports multiple entities, making this a varied role where no two days are the same.

We're looking for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent common sense and a proactive attitude who enjoys working within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day credit control activities, proactively chasing outstanding debt and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Monitor the sales ledger, investigate outstanding balances and resolve invoice or payment queries.
  • Allocate customer receipts and perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Support both the purchase ledger and sales ledger, assisting with invoice processing, payment runs and supplier queries.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and other routine finance activities.
  • Produce aged debt reports and provide updates on cash collection performance.
  • Work closely with the wider finance team to improve cash flow and support working capital management.
  • Provide support across payroll administration, with full training to develop responsibility for multiple payrolls over time.
  • Assist with finance administration and operational processes as required, providing additional support during busy periods.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting and controls while maintaining high levels of accuracy.

We're looking for someone who is keen to develop their finance career within a supportive and growing business.

You’ll ideally have

  • Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Credit Controller or Purchase Ledger role.
  • Exposure to credit control, sales ledger or accounts payable.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across the business.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience within recruitment, professional services or another fast-paced, multi-entity environment would be advantageous but isn't essential.
  • Exposure to payroll or an interest in developing payroll knowledge would be beneficial.
  • AAT studies (or a desire to study) would be welcomed but are not essential.
