We are partnering with a high-growth, international recruitment business that has been built “born in the cloud” and is now entering its next phase of operational and technological maturity. With a strong Microsoft-centric stack and a clear ambition to leverage AI across the business, this is a pivotal hire sitting at the intersection of technology, operations, and commercial delivery. This role will take ownership of day-to-day IT operations while playing a key role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s evolving AI and technology strategy. You will work closely with the CIO and other senior leadership across sales, marketing, and operations, helping embed systems, improve workflows, and drive measurable ROI from technology investments. There is a clear pathway for this role to evolve into a Head of IT position within the next 18–24 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage IT operations across a cloud-native environment
  • Deliver technology and AI initiatives, including Copilot deployment and adoption
  • Partner with commercial teams to optimise systems and sales workflows
  • Lead on information security, systems controls, and data privacy
  • Drive system implementation, integration, and continuous improvement
  • Act as a bridge between technical capability and business needs (not a back-office IT role)

Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT operations, systems, or technology roles
  • Strong understanding of Azure environments and Microsoft stack
  • Commercially minded, with an appreciation of sales processes and business flow
  • Proven experience delivering and embedding systems or change initiatives
  • Comfortable operating in a standalone role initially, with scope to build a team
  • Experience with AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, automation, agents) is highly advantageous
  • Recruitment or professional services sector experience is beneficial but not essential

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a broader, more strategic role, with real ownership and progression into leadership.

How to prepare for a job interview at Camino Partners Ltd

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
