I’m working with a fast-growing accountancy firm that is looking to hire an experienced Client Accountant to manage a varied portfolio of small business clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys client interaction, takes ownership of their work, and is keen to progress their career within a supportive, modern practice.
In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact and delivering a high standard of service. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients
- Acting as the primary contact via phone and email
- Supporting and training clients on the firm’s online bookkeeping portal
- Reviewing and approving financial accounts prior to client submission
- Preparing self-assessment tax returns for client approval
- Providing tax planning and ad hoc advisory support
- Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across all client work
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a client portfolio, accounting knowledge (at least 1 year in a similar role), and experience working with limited companies and accounting software. You’ll be organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing a busy workload. Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to personal development are key.
